Upload a portfolio snapshot

Upload a point-in-time snapshot of your fund holdings to Connect Earth.

A snapshot is a point-in-time view of a fund's holdings. Upload one to make the holdings available for compliance calculations and reporting.

When to upload a snapshot

  • At the end of each reporting period, whether that's monthly, quarterly, or annually
  • After a significant rebalance
  • Before generating a regulatory disclosure

Before you start

  • Your file needs four columns: name, ISIN, market value, and currency. Instrument position (long or short) and instrument type are optional additions. If you'd rather not build the file from scratch, download the template from the upload screen.
  • Column names should be in row one of the file.
  • Files can be uploaded as CSV, XLS, or XLSX.
  • Market value should reflect the total value of the holding, not the price per share, and the currency should match whatever currency that value is actually denominated in.

Steps

  1. Navigate to the fund.
  2. In the Overview tab on the left, go to Portfolio overview, next to the Insights tab.
  3. If the fund already has a portfolio, click Upload portfolio in the top right corner. If this is the fund's first portfolio, use the upload button on the main Overview screen instead.
  4. Select the correct quarter and year. Download the template here if you need one.
  5. Drag and drop your portfolio file, then click Next.
  6. Match the column headers to the expected fields, then click Update portfolio.

These steps are the same whether you're uploading a new portfolio or overwriting an existing one, aside from where you start in step 3.

Verifying the upload

In the Overview tab, you can view the uploaded portfolio, showing the portfolio weight and instrument position for each holding.
